Stem Cells for Fracture Healing
Can stem cells heal broken bones?
Can bone marrow aspirate stem cell injections be used to heal fractures?

Stem Cells for Fracture Healing Page under construction.
Bone marrow aspirate stem cell case for healing broken bone coming
soon.

A. X-ray zoomed in of a foot of a 57 year old female with a comminuted
5th phalange (pinky toe) fracture sustained 8 months prior with no
healing seen on x-ray.  B. X-ray of same patient, 8 weeks post bone
marrow aspirate stem cell injection under US guidance by Dr. Silberman
demonstrating healing on x-ray with callous and bony remodeling seen.

notes:
engineered mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to over‐express basic
fibroblast growth factor (bFGF)

MSCbFGF accelerated fracture healing by increasing the production of
growth factors that stimulated angiogenesis and differentiation of MSCs
to osteoblasts that formed new bone and accelerated fracture repair. This
novel treatment may reduce the time required for fracture healing. Stem
